Background

Fusion Five was created of and for young professionals in attempt to change the social and economic landscape of Southwest Louisiana. We began meeting in the Spring of 2007, with the goal in mind to create a true Young Professionals Organization that would allow us to educate, facilitate and illuminate the voice of young professionals. What originally started out as a few people meeting once a month to discuss ways to better improve their businesses, themselves and Southwest Louisiana, has now evolved to a desire to "fuse” together the five parish area into something great!

Simply put, we're focused on taking a leadership role in Southwest Louisiana to improve awareness, stimulate involvement and create meaningful relationships with young professionals in the area. Making this place better to live, work and thrive is an important element to Fusion Five’s formula. We do this through three key concepts:

• Educate – We will accomplish this through monthly "Lunch and Learn” series. Through professional development and finding better ways to market ourselves, our businesses and our area, will enable us to have a long lasting positive affect on our area. We will also disseminate information on local events and community updates through our website and other monthly publications.

• Facilitate –Through facilitating the Small Business Exposition of 2009, we will accomplish this portion of our mission. One of our key initiatives is to organize and capitalize on the potential of this event. Our vision is to make the Small Business Exposition 2009 a first class annual convention for Southwest Louisiana. Through bringing together the valuable business and resources, this will better enable us to market our region. 

• Illuminate – Through networking the young professional leaders of the future, creating awareness of community service involvement, and increasing participation in local municipal meetings and policy, we will create successful groundwork for superior achievement in Southwest Louisiana.
