Join the Leadership Council

The members of the Leadership Council shall be Alumni of the Leadership Southwest Louisiana Program (LSW). 

The Members of the Leadership Council shall serve three (3) year terms and may be elected to one additional three (3) year term (an "Additional Term"). At the completion of an Additional term, a Member may not be elected to the Leadership Council without having served a one-year absence from the Leadership Council. Any Member who agrees to serve and who misses more than two consecutive meetings will be contacted by the Chairperson to ascertain their continued interest in serving. In order to ensure continued active leadership on the Council, any Member who misses more than three Board meetings in a year may be removed by a majority vote at the discretion of the Leadership Council.

The responsibilities of the Leadership Council shall also include, but are not limited to, the following: 
1) Serve: Commit to serve the Council as a Member-at-Large or Committee Chair and meet with the Council at least
quarterly each year.
2) Curriculum: Determining overall development of program by evaluating the session surveys, staff input and session
relevance; Monitor program participants and graduates insure the quality of the program; Review staff
recommendations on policies and procedures; Monitor policies and procedures and ensure program is in alignment.
3) Review job duties and volunteer for positions on the Council as proposed in the policies and procedures.
4) Fundraising: Assisting the SWLA Alliance in expanding the sponsorship contributions to LSW.
5) Attendance and participation in the class and social activities are highly encouraged.
