Work to advance Southwest Louisiana's Economic and Workforce Development initiatives is supported by donations from companies like Lake Charles Memorial Health System which donated $25,000 to the SWLA Economic Development Foundation. The Alliance / Chamber SWLA has worked with local, state, federal and private partners to develop dozens of projects. In 2021, a total of $75 billion in projects are either under construction or in the final approval phase.

The Chamber and the SWLA Alliance Foundation are part of the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance.  As part of the funding for the SWLA Economic Development Alliance, SWLA on the Move promotes economic development in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis parishes.
